Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week: Chanel

Well my #snowday was short lived and it was back to the daily grind today! It hasn't stopped me  checking out Chanels offerings for the SS13! I had to wait until I got home from work till I could see though as I've been rushed off my feet all day and my battery died (arghh) Don't you just hate it when that happens!? And when it's freezing outside too grrr...

So I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to the Spring because I am totally over Winter now. Christmas feels like a million years ago and Summer feels like light years away but Spring is at arms length! :) Plus the shops are bringing in all the swimwear and shorts and its getting me slightly excited for warmer days... Having said that I will then need a new excuse to sit in onsies all day and eat stupid amounts of chocolate damn it!....

So anyway back to Chanel and SS13 fashion!

When I got home I couldn't wait to see what was on offer and the first picture I came across was this one:

I love it! The make up looks particularly amazing I think, but that picture just looks so haunting... And inspiring, I wouldn't expect anything less from Chanel though :) and they couldn't just do with one bride.. Oh no it had to be two....

The boucle jacket is timeless Chanel and no show would be complete without a new twist on the classic.

Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week: Dior

Well, hello there fellow #snowday peeps! Hope everyone else has spent the day in a onsie??? I have anyway! haha... And with my candles lit, a cuppa next to me all day and lots of chocolate... Ah well I dont get another day off for a while now so I'm making the most of it, please dont judge...

Today I've spent the day stalking all the news on Dior's Spring/Summer 13 couture collection. And wow! Did it deleiver!? You bet your onsies it did :)

It's fair to say I'm in love! The wedding dresses? Swoon! Not that I'll be able to afford one any time soon like haha! but a girl can dream... Being Raf Simons second show since becoming the creative director for the house, it's fair to say it was certainly anticipated but he has not let down by any means!... I love the 'catwalk' of gardens! I love how it plays homage to Christian Dior himself as he was a great lover of gardens and flowers.... It has to be said, I do have a soft spot for Christian Dior as I used to work for them but still I love the house just the same :)

In case you haven't seen it yet check out some of these pictures....

I am seriously impressed with Simons offerings! Just how exquisite is the detailing?

Well that's enough of daydreaming of Haute Couture for one day :) Back to the original post I was writing today! Just had to share this wonder... Cant wait for the Chanel show tomorrow morning!

Hope everyone is doing well?? Sorry I have been absent from blogging for a bit I have been fairly busy with work at the moment, due to holidays at work and lack of staff arghhh! But I have two weeks off very soon and I'm sure I'll make up for my absence then :)

Recent Favourites :)

I know every man and their dogs do these posts but I just love them! I like to see what people have consistently been using  mainly because I think we all get blinded by the million reviews floating around it's nice to see what actually gets used most regularly...

I've thought long and hard about what I've been using regularly this month and tried to keep it as compressed as possible :) there is some old favourites and some new comers too! I've actually put whether they are new or old products to my collection.

Cliniqiue: Rinse off foaming cleanser -New - This is one I actually got in a Bonus Time free gift but I've been using it this month to remove my make up on an evening and I can say it's been a joy to use and its removes my make up swiftly.

D & G: 3 L'IMPERATRICE - Old - This is actually my summer time fragrance but I popped it on a few weeks ago, and my boyfriend said 'mmm what's that smell? It reminds me of when we go on holiday' and it just made me smile that the smell could bring back happy memories of us two for him.

Laura Mercier: Silk Creme Foundation - New - This is a new foundation for me and I've been using it pretty regularly but I'm still not 100% sold on this one yet. I like it but I wouldn't say I love it yet.  A full review of this foundation is on its way when I've used it for a bit longer so I can give a proper review of it.

Laura Mercier: Foundation Primer original and oil free formula - Old - I've used Laura Mercier primers for years and can not fault them at all - If your thinking of buying them go for it, you wont be disappointed, they are £28 for 50ml so they are really good value for money.

Ole Henriksen: Truth serum - New- I recently did a review on this product (to see the review click here) and I've continued to us this product and I'm still loving it - If you follow me on twitter you will know that I burnt my face with my curling tong the other day (what a plonker!) and I'm hoping this will help heal the mark left behind (fingers crossed aye!?)

Nars: Orgasm blush - Old - I've had this blush aaaages but always preferred Deep Throat over this one for some reason but recently I've been reaching for it more and think I'm really loving this at the moment, I still have a soft spot for Deep Throat though :).

Lush: Fresh face masks - Old - I use these all the time and get different ones depending on what my needs are at the time and as my skin has been acting out of character recently these have been my saviour this month.

Right so I think I'll leave it to that before I get carried away with myself  Has anyone else been using any of these products? What do you think of them? What are everyone else's faves?

If you fancy following me on twitter I'm @siobhansparkles by the way..

The Liebster Blogger Award

Hello everyone! This is actually my first post in 2013 whoop! But I do have a few lined up as it goes :) So watch this space.. I'm really please to have been nominated fr two awards! The Versatile Blogger award, I was nominated by Louise at http://swirliciousbeauty.blogspot.co.uk. Check out her blog its absolutely lovely :) and then for the Liebster award by Rosy over at rostinted.blogspot.co.uk whose blog I love to read! She always has something interesting to say :) If you haven't already check out both blogs! They're both fab..

The concept on both these awards are similar, such as put up some facts about yourself and nominate others. So instead of doing two similar posts I'm putting them into one and as the Libester award requires 11 random facts about myself rather than 7 I thought  do the post more on the Libester. Here's a little bit of information the Libester Award:

"The Liebster Award is for bloggers with under 300 followers and the rules of the award is that the nominee must link back to whoever awarded them, write 11 random facts about themselves, answer the 11 questions from the award giver, and then nominate another 11 bloggers and make up 11 questions for them to answer. It's a great way for new and undiscovered bloggers to meet new people, get more followers and find some blogs that they want to follow."

11 random facts about me:

  1. I have a Black belt at Karate (bet you didn't see that one coming did you!)
  2. I have a degree in Events Management and specialise in conference and exhibition management.
  3. I am an Aquarian.
  4. I am addicted to tea and chocolate and have both daily. Several times.
  5. I'm naturally Blonde! But I love changing my hair colour so I've been just about every colour going! I always end up going back to Blonde at some point though.
  6. I faint at the sight of blood.
  7. I hate mushrooms.
  8. I have a cat and a dog. Nilla and Zoe if your wondering :)
  9. I would have been called Nathan if I was a boy and strangely both mean 'Gift from God' how weird is that!?
  10. I love crap TV and my guilty pleasure is catching up on my days off when my boyfriend is at work (with a cuppa and chocolate)
  11. I have two older Brothers but always wanted a Sister. So I've adopted my Boyfriends Sister as my own :).
1. What makeup product could you not live without and why?
I would probably have to say Mascara as no matter what it makes all the difference to your face plus as I'm fair haired my eyelashes neeeed colour! Primer comes a close second for nights out in particular though! To be fair I'm a total make up addict and I can't get enough of any of it lol.....

2. What’s your favourite book and why?
Eeep this is a toughie for me as I love to read! I honestly don't have a favourite book at the moment but when I was younger my favourite book was Charlotte's Web hands down! I could read it over and over but I'm not able to do that with any book now, once I've read it that's it I cant read it again. The girl who loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King was the first 'grown up' book I ever read and it scared me.

3. What’s your favourite clothes shop/brand?

Topshop! Without fail I can find something I want in there and that's what I love about it plus the fact that Leeds has just opened the largest store outside London make me very happy although nothing compares to their Oxford street store its amazing! I also love J Brand Jeans.

4. How would you describe your clothes style?
Dependent on my mood really at times it relaxed and cool, other times its glam! As Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel once said 'a girl should be two things; classy and fabulous' and that's really my aspiration.

5. What is your number one beauty tip/ piece of advice?
Always take your make up off before bed!

6. What’s your favourite trend at the moment?
Well I'm really excited for spring/summer fashion trends with 60's being tipped to be a big one! It's definitely my favourite era all big hair, big lashes, shifts and flower power :) I love it.

7. What’s your favourite song?
Anything by the Spice girls ha! I'm a 90's girl, don't judge!, Beyonce or Rhianna.  I don't have a favourite I'm too indecisive for that! I love use somebody by kings of leon too, ooh I'm on a roll now...

8. Where would you most like to live?
New York City. I went a few years ago and totally left my heart there!

9. What’s your favourite item of clothing?
Probably Jeans as I wear them the most and I have a stupid amount of Jeans it's actually silly. Or disco pants I'm in love with them at the moment.

10. Starter or dessert?
Both!? Although I do have a sweet tooth so dessert if I haaaaaad to chose.

11. What’s your most treasured possession?
My make up bag. I dread to think how much it would cost to replace it!
